Erma Bombeck said that and she is darn right as far as I am concerned. I never knew of this author until a few readers of my blog pointed out that I have a similar sense of humor. I dunno. Mebbe we went through the same shit …I certainly found a kindred soul in her work, that is for sure!

THE SECOND AWARD, MY VERY FAVORITE

Given by IHM for marching to my own drummer and doing my own thing and seeing what I chose to see and not stuff right in front of my nose … or as in this case – my laptop monitor.

IHM wanted us to guess what she saw on a tree that made her laugh and posted the photo. Dammit, I am old and my eyesight is weak and failing

So she gave me this award as a consolation prize!

Now I can ring up M Night Shyamalan and whisper eerily ” I see dead people just what I want to see, even if it ain’t there”

I think I have a promising career ahead of me

It gives me more sophistication than I have gathered in my half a century on the planet. 

On a baser note, I watched The Secret for the umpteenth time last night, trying to figure out how to manifest untold wealth, rubies and emeralds as large Cadbury Nutties and diamonds of the size of decent Ferroro Rochers.  The Secret, sad to say, escapes me.

So my status message henceforth shall be

HAIL OH UNIVERSE! 

I wanna manifest untold goodies, not to forget a Mercedes Benz S Class, a few crores of rupees, gizmos (not to forget a 50 inch plasma screen) so on and so forth.  Tell me how!

Dammit the Universe aint listening!!!!

The Indian Film Industry was doing good, but somehow needed a validation nod from the Oscars.  I think there will be a lot of jubilation and a whole lot of jealousy and debates like

“Is Slumdog an Indian Movie?”

“Is this Poverty Porn?”

“If we did Slumdog in Bollywood, it would not have featured in Oscars”

We love to debate, and quibble dont we

As a kid I wanted to be a model when I grew up.  The brothers I grew up with rolled on the dirt floor, laughed their stupid guts out and promptly made me a crown of guava leaves with which they crowned me and called me AJOOBA …. which means “Unique” if you are kind, “Freak” if you are unkind.

They of course meant Freak!!!!! Humph!  Boys!!!!

I guess they were not too far off the mark.  Pretty astute for pre-teen and teen boys full of pimples and toilet humor.

I love the little woman who makes my son so happy.  No its not a perfect relationship – which relationship is?  Its a work-in-progress kind of relationship, but you know what – its a positive and loving one.  At the end of the day, that is all that matters – truly.

Wish others would also look at mother-in-law/daughter in law relationships this way.
